#22: From bad to worse, and then to the worst?
Originally, I have given up on MCA's crisis and chaos, as MCA is now have no relevance to the Chinese society.
But, because the media coverage was so big, almost like the General Elections. So, what to do?
(Hide in your blanket and hug your pillow?)
Just listen on lah!
And with the results, I am certain that the party's crisis had just opened a brand new chapter.
The results: Chua Soi Lek beaten Ong Ka Ting and Ong Tee Keat with 901 votes, become the new MCA president.
Liow Tiong Lai beaten Kong Cho Ha with the majority votes of 65 votes, become the party's No.2.
I'm not going to elaborate on the vice president post. It is not so significant. Maybe in the future.
But now, let us focus with the top leaders.
Chua Soi Lek and Liow Tiong Lai?! This is worst than Ong Tee Keat working with Chua Soi Lek before Chua Soi Lek was 'fired' by the disciplinary board.
But then, come to think again, it was Ong Tee Keat that Liow Tiong Lai hate at the first place. So, it is better than working with the friend-turned-foe Ong Tee Keat.
But this pair does not seems right. What does the Central Delegates was thinking back then? The Party? I don't think so. It is as if they are here to make the party worse.
But I believe this is not the worst. The worst has yet to come, and it is coming. It is just the matter of time.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, change the topic. Not going to talk about this never ending drama more.
PERKASA had launched their Annual General Meeting with Tun Dr. Mahathir's presence.
During their opening ceremony, PERKASA kept on saying the "old topics"-their rights, their sovereignty on this land, and their power. They kept mentioning that their privilleges had been taken away by non-Bumiputeras etc. etc.
The problem is: they do not realise the fact-they are the ruling guys upon us.
They have some kind of narrow type of mind, where they only see the very detailed picture, but not the general picture.
And with their such meetings, it would again raise tensions amongst the different races.
And I don't get it. Why are they whining when we are the ones that should have whine instead? Why are they whining when Najib is working so hard to push the idealogy of 1Malaysia? Why?
Are their rights being robbed? Is the Article 153 in the Constitution ammended suddenly?
NO!!!
If they are whining because of the 40% shareholder in foreign companies policy changed, they should blame Najib, not on to us!
So, why are they whining?
Aren't they should be helping-the-government roles to play, like making 1Malaysia real?
The one thing for sure is, PERKASA would still maintain their stand-to fight the rights of the Bumiputeras (when the aborigins are still eating paku-pakis in the woods).
So much for politics for now. So, let us relax with another favourite singer of mine-Josh Groban with his song, To Where You Are.

#21: (Untitled work Part 1)
Not just any ordinary silence, but a stiff and nervous silence.
The chairman on the podium looked awkward. With a very panicking voice, he broke the silence.
"I announce that today's meeting is officially adjourned!" And shortly, this is followed with a knock of the gavel on to the sound block, that shaked the entire hall a bit.
And when the sound of the gavel fell, he went down from the podium, from the stage, and then the hall with somewhat lightning speed.
"What?"
"How could he do this? It is irresponsible!"
"He's crazy! The assembly had only gone half...not even halfway through!"
All of the delegates grunted in utmost displeasure towards the chairman's decision to end this assembly adruptly.
Some young delegates started to run, trying to catch up with the chairman. Maybe they wanted him to go back to the meeting, maybe they wanted him for a reasonable explanation, maybe they just wanted to smack and whack him......
But they didn't manage to capture their prey. The prey had gone away in a new Rolls Royce Phantom swiftly.
The delegates now left flat. They didn't actually know what is their next move.
"Let's utilise with this crowd to re-elect another chairman and continue this meeting!" One of the delegates shouted.
"That's sounds a good idea! I'm not going to waste this hundreds-of-kilometers trip, all the way to here. We must do something productive instead, and this idea sounds a good one!" Another delegates supported him.
All delegates agreed with the proposer. And so, one of the committee members conduct the election, and elected a chairman.

#20: Norah Jones-My Dear Country
'Twas Halloween and the ghosts were out,
And everywhere they'd go, they shout,
And though I covered my eyes I knew,
They'd go away.
But fear's the only thing I saw,
And three days later 'twas clear to all,
That nothing is as scary as election day.
But the day after is darker,
And darker and darker it goes,
Who knows, maybe the plans will change,
Who knows, maybe he's not deranged.
The news men know what they know, but they,
Know even less than what they say,
And I don't know who I can trust,
For they come what may.
'cause we believed in our candidate,
But even more it's the one we hate,
I needed someone I could shake,
On election day.
But the day after is darker,
And deeper and deeper we go,
Who knows, maybe it's all a dream,
Who knows if I'll wake up and scream.
I love the things that you've given me,
I cherish you my dear country,
But sometimes I don't understand,
The way we play.
I love the things that you've given me,
And most of all that I am free,
To have a song that I can sing,
On election day.
Again, this is one of my favourite songs from my favourite artist, Norah Jones.
This post will be labelled under the "Arabesque" label and the "You cannot make a phone call with a 2 cent coin".
Qutie obvious, this song is in a political tune, which is a bit different from most of Jones' songs. This song is written towards President Bush during his presidency in year 2006.
But, surprisingly, this song can be reflected into the situation over here.
Let us look into the song.
Song: The first stanza is a contrast to the second one, where she (or the people) is (or are) fears politics more than Halloween or ghosts.
Here: Politics here is really terrifying, and worsens after the political tsunami made on 8th of March. And the politics here is no longer interesting, but scary as it has effects on us, the people.
Song: The third stanza tells us that though there's elections, it doesn't mean anything as representatives will forget their responsibilities and duties after election day. Then, the stanza also told us that it is doubtful whether changes to improve living standards were made or not, after saying that the days after election day is darker and darker.
Here: Quite true that politicians (mostly from BN) shouted blaringly about plans and changes before the election day to gain support and votes, and then it quite fade away. This situation is no different in Pakatan Rakyat, as some promises have not been fulfilled yet (but some did though). And then, some changes, like ammendments in the Internal Security Act suddenly paused (or stopped). This make us to think whether this government that governing us is sincere or not.
Song: The fourth stanza says that the newsmen (people who runs the media) are not transparent, and made conclusions instead of reporting what is the truth. Then, the poet (or the singer) said he/she does not know who to trust because everyone is not being truthful.
Here: The media is being monopolised. In free national TV, 4 out of 6 stations are part of Media Prima, the remaining two stations are Government's RTM. And Media Prima is notoriously known to be linked with "You Must Not Object". The truth can't be told, and practically there's no one can to be believed.
Song: The next stanza continues by saying the candidates, especially the chosen one, is the one who the majority believed, but later turned into the one the people hate because didn't fulfill what they promised to the people. The stanza also reinstates that there's no one to hold on or believed to.
Here: This happened long ago, around 2004, where whe had witnessed ourselves how Abdullah Badawi led his government. The elected candidates didn't execute in a proper manner. The parliament is lopsided because the big majority won by BN. Now, it is still the same thing, and this also says on to ex-Pakatan Rakyat parliament members, where they quit from Pakatan Rakyat, become an independent, or a BN-friendly independent, or one of BN people.
Song: The sixth stanza repeats the fourth stanza, with a bit alteration in the last two lines. The singer said that the filthy situations produced by the people's decision might be a dream (nightmare) or a reality.
Here: Not need to elaborate much-it is a reality.
Song: The next stanza praises the country, and appreciates what the country had gave the singer/poet, but the singer/poet confused on the political game the politicans play.
Here: It's true that Malaysia has a lot of natural resources and human resources. And Malaysia is free from many natural disasters. However, the government's policy that lets the natural resources to be used unwisely and shooing away great minds.
Song: The last stanza is somewhat a hope, a hope to change things. It is called the freedom to choose, and the singer is "free to have a song on election day".
Here: We do have the freedom to choose, and we did exercise the freedom in year 2008 and did some effects on the country. But still, it's far from enough. Still, we still have the freedom to choose in the 13th General Elections.
Don't give up. There's still hope, and let us make it real at that time.

#19: Affairs on affairs
This is one of my favourite singers and this is one of my favourite songs to listen, especially during sunset.
So, what is the relationship between Norah Jones and affairs? (She haven't got married yet.)
It is the relationship affair I meant.
Well, it is quite a story.
---------------------------------------------------------
Ravi Shankar is a famous sitarist that came from a wealthy and conservative Brahmin family. (Yes, the Brahmin from Tamadun India in Sejarah.)
His father, Shyam Shankar, an administrator for the then Maharaja of India, Maharaja of Jhalawar, married to Shankar's mother, and then married a second time while he was in London working as a lawyer.
He approached in music at an age of around 10, and started touring the world with his brother's band at the age of 13.
OK, the story after that is too long to elaborate, so let me fast foward to the 1940s.
Shankar married Allauddin Khan's (a famous indian musician at the 20th century) daughter, Annapurna Devi, and gave birth to a son at 1942. Later, he separated with Annapurna Devi, and had a relationship with Kamala Shastri, a dancer, beginning in the late 1940s. An affair with Sue Jones, a New York concert producer, led to the birth of Geethali Norah Jones Shankar in 1979. In 1981, Anoushka Shankar was born to Shankar and Sukanya Rajan, who Shankar had known since the 1970s. After separating from Kamala Shastri in 1981 Shankar lived with Sue Jones until 1986 and married Sukanya Rajan in 1989.
Norah Jones was quite an "accidental product". Yet, this product was a Grammy-Award-winning one. This product was a topping-Billboard-200-albums one. A very successful one.
Suddenly, affairs like Tiger Woods, Jack Neo, Ashley Cole, John Terry and more sounds quite small and less complicated with Ravi Shankar. And there are possibilities to have another Geethli Shankar-like personalities.
Accidental products from Tiger Woods could lead to the next US PGA Tour winner. Accidental products from Ashley Cole and John Terry could lead to the next FIFA Best Player of the World. Accidental products Jack Neo could lead to the next Academy Awards' Best Director.
Of course, they didn't have such products (I think so). And I'm not promoting illicit relationships like having affairs. But I'm just elaborating the possibilities if there are such products.
Affairs kill (your personality). Just don't do it.
Here's another one from Norah Jones, the multi-Grammy-award winner.
#18: The mixture of genres and feelings-The Lovely Bones
Instead, I feel like talking about the things happened before the trip happened.
From the post earlier, I wrote that I had gone to watch a show with a preview pass.
Well, thanks to the neighbour two doors away, who gave me and my sister two preview passes (at quite a last minute-the show starts at 9 and they gave at near 8), I was able to watch a hidden decent film (well, is not that I can't afford a Super Wednesday rate, but I might not watch because it does not have much publicity).
Well, this film is generally a mixture of genres, covering family drama, murder mystery, and the supernatural and afterlife. And this film is quite well potrayed under the direction of the triology Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson. For people who don't like too much violence, it has the enough dosage of softness, not too much. For people who don't like too much softness, it has the enough amount of thrill, not too much also (but it might not be sufficient for some...).
There are heart-thomping moments, and those moments are truly filled with anxiety, especially the scene where the murder victim's sister broke into the antagonist's house, walked into the owner's bedroom, and the owner of the house came back at the same moment. (I'm not going to describe further, do go and watch to see what I meant.)
It would still fall short when comparing to the great (commercialised) film Avatar, but its themes are well deserved for some deep thinking.
That's all for my first ever film review I ever made.

#16: Dido-Quiet Times
You ask me where I go tonight I go back to today last year.
When me and you had to make each other happier, now there's hope with everything.
Its hard enough to feel the world as it is and hold on anything.
Without these quiet times you've brought round here.
Im gonna have to run away, I'm sure that I belong some other place.
I've seen another side of all I've seen it keeps me wondering where my family is.
Its hard enough to see the world as it is, and hold on anything.
Without these quiet times coming round here.
Now I miss you...
Now I want you...
But I can't have you...
Even when you're here...
Suppose I have to take you with me, broken mind I'd rather leave you here.
To forget everything you've seen and known erase every idea.
And you walk up in the street, and hold my hand and smile.
Well I won't be taken in, cus I know how it turns out.
And it takes me back to these quiet times coming round here.
Now I miss you...
Now I want you...
Your not coming back...
And I need you...
But I can't have you...
Even when you're here...
Now I miss you...
Now I want you...
You're not coming back...
And I need you...
But I can't have you...
Even when you're here...
This song is written by one of my favourite singers of all time-Dido, and it is written about her father who passed away in 2006. This song is used as soundtracks for Grey's Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer and One Tree Hill.
This song really makes me feel sad, and I'm not going to elaborate much on this song, because...maybe because I'm listening to this song while writing this, and I do not have the right emotions to write anything now.
So, listen and enjoy.

#15: New Look, But Same Title
Well, it is in conjunction with Earth Hour (that will happen at 8.30pm, Saturday 27th March 2010) and Saint Patrick's Day.
This will be here until Earth Day, which falls on April 22 every year.
I hope this move will also create awareness on movements towards saving the bits of Mother Earth.
GO GREEN!

#14: Something to do with Biology Experiment when you are in Form 6......
And I admit that my fasting on Internet usage is not so successful as I occassionally on the computer and use the internet for a few minutes. But I will continue fasting.
Now let us go on to the title part...
_______________________________________________
My Pendidikan Moral teacher, Encik Lim once told us (the class that I'm not proud about) a story about Biology Experiment and testing on animals that still alive.
The story goes like this. There was one experiment on observing a live heart of an alive animal in Form 6 Biology's syllabus. Of course, the animal is a guinea pig.
Then there was a student, she was very timid, especially when it comes to disecting animals, but she have to execute the experiment. So here's how she did.
She was required to put the guinea pig into a jar filled with gas that 'drunk' the guinea pig. She afraid that by putting to much gas it would kill the guinea pig instantly, so she put an amount which is less than the required amount, and she put the guinea pig inside.
The guinea pig was drunk, eventually. The next step is to hammer the legs and hands of the guinea pig, and again she was afraid that hammering too much would hurt the guinea pig, so she just hammer the nails a bit. Then it comes to the disecting part, where she doesn't like the most, but she have to do it.
So, she take the scalpel, and start disecting from the stomach of the guinea pig. Then......
The guinea pig raised its head and looked at her! She was terrified, and dropped the disecting board from the table. The nails was released and the guinea pig ran away, while its intestines dropping along the way.
Disgusting, isn't it?
Now, my point isn't about the bad about disecting animals, whether dead or alive. I haven't even reach my point yet, it is the introduction only.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This few days, we can see than in consecutive days, PKR parliament members, from the state named the Pearl of Orient, leaving the fleet of Pakatan Rakyat and PKR.
Those are frogs. Jumping frogs. A common term to call a person who leave any party.
Talking about frogs, let us link to the above title.
We do experiment on frogs, do we?
Maybe that was a long time ago, before there is a movement (which I doubt there is) to stop the killing and torturing of living animals.
And because of that, we now disect guinea pig (the experimental rats), rather than frogs.
So, we cannot see the contents of the living frogs. We cannot see how dirty is the frogs' internal organs are. That is until it is dead.
And when that time arrives, it looks like it is a bit too late to observe how the organs function.
Similarly, the metaphoric "frogs'" case is the same. We can't really distinguish the virtuous and the vigilant one with the venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition!
(Suddenly have the urge of "V for Vendetta"...)
Anyway, these frogs cannot be disected alive, as they known the tricks to hid the "toxic" substances. They will release the toxic and die from the current environment, surviving in the afterlife environment or reincarnate (which I don't believe in).
These are a few people, few rotten apples. Though they are rotten, this doesn't means that the whole sack of apples is rotten. Same with the religion Islam. Just because some people are Muslim extremists, like Taliban and Al-Qaeda, we cannot say that Islam is bad.
The only thing we can do is pray. Pray that everyone in the Pakatan Rakyat could reflect themselves, pray that everyone in Pakatan Rakyat be rational. And that's all I can ask for. Amen.
