#29: New Image, New Title, New Editor, New Theme

After the Earth Day campaign is over, I changed the look of my blog, along with the title, which is Strange Transmissions. The subtitle is: Constantly Varying through Perspectives, which didn't appear in the page.

Why Strange Transmissions?

I'm quite inspired by Norah Jones's song with Peter Malick group-Strange Transmission, and therefore the title.

That's not just the reason. People have different perspectives, and they transmit their perspective in different ways, so that it creates diversity. Some transmissions are clear, others are hidden amongst their agenda. But this creates personality, a profile.

Constantly varying through perspectives does not means that I will change my perspective, but instead exploring opportunities, exploring possibilities, exploring perspectives. One should not look upon one incident, or object, or person with one perspective, but many, and diverse. This way things might become clearer (or for worse-confused). One would feel more positive, more optimistic, more...happier.(?)

With this new theme, and of course new perspective, life is as though pressed the "RESTART" button...or is it?

Never mind. How about new editor?

It just simply means that I am exploring the new editor provided by blogger.com and see whether it's for better or otherwise.

Good day everyone.

#28: It's Earth Day!!!

22th April every year, is the more-meaningful-than-Earth-Hour Earth Day.

I'm not going to elaborate much, as there are some backlogging. You should know what I mean.

Well, are we doing much? Are we active in giving commitment towards the environment?

Every Thursday 7.30 pm, ntv7 would broadcast Big Ideas for a Small Planet, a kind of documentary/interview show on people making their actions towards a better and sustainable environment.

The website is this: sundancechannel.com/thegreen

These people consists from many walks of life, and they are actively commiting to a sustainable environment.

This rang in my mind: It's time we follow their footsteps and make the world a better place.

But why can't we? Commitment issue? Lack of support?

We shouldn't be answering this question, and instead we should get down to the ground and start moving.

We have only one Earth, therefore it must use the term "The". There would not be any Earth, or discovery of life-sustainable environment other than Earth (for the span of 10 years?). Save it, and you are saving yourself, pratically.

#3^3: Online usage decrease tremendously.....

Yeah. I am quite busy this few days, and this is because of practice. House practice.

No. Not the practice for Sukan Tara, but the practice for Marching and Choreography for the House.

And last week, I attended everyday, and the attendance is not encouraging. Really not encouraging.

This week, it's fixed on only three days-Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and it's 5pm-4pm-5pm. And hopefully with this fixture everyone would attend the practices.

My say? Well, I can't be pretty sure with the number of participants turning up tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday, but maybe there would be increment in the number of marchers present than last week.

What is the problem with us? Commitment?

I do not have much problem on that now, as I do not have tuition, just that I have to absent on Monday's English Literature Class for somewhat two weeks.

But I wouldn't have much effect on to the class, as the priority is on to the Form 5 students. And there are possibilities that the next cycle will begin next year, "killing" all of us.

And there's another thing I would like to express. I feel like participating Citrawarna Colours of 1Malaysia. No, I'm not saying that I'm supporting the government or anything. It's just a programme, and it's a healthy one. Plus, one would have allowance (of somewhat RM180?), food, T-shirt, Certificate of Participation a National Level Event, and National Level Gerko marks.

But it would clash with the house marching practice: The house marching is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting from 2.15pm, whereas the Citrawarna practice is on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting from 1-something pm.

Let us just see how it turns out.

By the way, the exam will be turned on in another month's time! Argh!

#26: Mary's In India-Dido

Danny is lonely
Mary's in India now
She said she'd call but that was three weeks ago
She left all her things well, her books and her letters from him
But as the sun rises on Mary sets on him
And just dance, and just drink
And just see the things I probably never get the chance to see
Danny's not eating, he's drinking and sleeping
I saw him last night at party, he's definitely thin
He says he's happy, look pretty good
But I think
That as the sun rises on Mary sets on him
And just dance, and just drink
And just see the things I probably never get the chance to say
Danny came over last night and I cooked for him
He talked about you Mary and how much we loved you still
He told me he's packed up your books and your letters and things
But as the sun sets on Mary, it's rising on him
And we danced, and we drank
And I've seen something you probably never got the chance to see
Don't worry, Mary
Cause I'm taking care of Danny
And he's taking care of me

This is one of the new songs I listened to now, and my favourite sentence in the song is "That as the sun rises on Mary sets on him". The melody is quite simple and lean, with the instrumentation being just a guitar and another additional background vocal plus some electronics.

This is quite a happy song comparing to other song's of Dido Armstrong. Maybe later I would introduce a more sad song.

#25: Quite a week

It's been a long time since my personal life post being posted.

Well, for me, the past week was quite a week.

After being sick from last Thursday, and got well by Saturday, the week from there is......quite hard to comment.

On Thursday, I actually let the cat out of the bag, telling the Moral teacher what had gone in the class, and got 'reprimanded' by one of the people involved.

Is it wrong to report? Aren't people should be responsible for their actions?

Never mind.

Wednesday was Sukan Tara, and many house's marchers thought there was no practice after sukan tara, so most of them left, only 5 of us stayed back. And not much could be done, because over 70% of the people is not present, so what's the point of practicing. Anyway, we did advance in some of the choreography.

And the other days was, just the other days.

However, on Monday there was some discovery, and all thanks to Ser Lyn.

Well, I think that's it. And why I have just written short is mainly because, every day looks normal to me, though I constantly reminding myself everyday is a different story.

And yes, it is practically, just that the rhythm of normal life is so common and get-used, it feels like each day is just another day. But the small things and details made each day unique and special, and it is up to us to realise and observe them, to make each day a special day.

Now, I feel quite sentimental. It must be me listening to Dido while writing this post. And I'm not listening to hit singles like "Thank You", or "Don't Believe in Love", or "White Flag". It is those songs that could not be heard from radio, but from each album. Those little songs, those songs that regarded as decorations for hit singles in an album.

And Dido's songs are sentimental and sad, especially these type of songs.

Each morning in school, I would have to walk uphill from the Reading Corner to the Assembly Ground, and the sunrise glow behind the Blok D makes me feel so spiritual, and feels like a day has born.

#24: Remembering the 1st Anniversary Victory in Petaling Utama District Level English Language Drama Competition-The Man We Salute

Had he and we but met,
In some ordinary English lesson,
We would be quiet and sat,
And just pay some serious attention!

But ranged as actors,
And staring face to face,
We practice before him as he do the tutors,
And correct our errors in our place.

We salute him because-
Because he was our coach,
A professional coach he was,
With a close and friendly approach.

He'd thought we'd lose, perhaps,
Fall short a bit-just as we,
But when the surprise unwraps,
We would shout in glee.

Yes; grateful and appreciate we felt!
You lead us till this day,
You'd refuse, if we express our heartfelt,
Or simply walked away.------A adapted and altered version from Thomas Hardy's The Man He Killed:

Had he and I but met
By some old ancient inn,
We should have sat us down to wet
Right many a nipperkin!

But ranged as infantry,
And staring face to face,
I shot at him as he at me,
And killed him in his place.

I shot him dead because —
Because he was my foe,
Just so: my foe of course he was;
That’s clear enough; although

He thought he’d ’list, perhaps,
Off-hand like — just as I —
Was out of work — had sold his traps —
No other reason why.

Yes; quaint and curious war is!
You shoot a fellow down
You’d treat if met where any bar is.
Or help to half-a-crown.

#23: Happy Easter Day!

My fasting for Easter has ended!

(But to be honest, the internet fasting was not quite successful, the food fasting however was successful.)

Now, I embark myself with another journey, full of programmes.

Programme 1-SNTC & FaA Programme
SNTC (or in full term, Say No To Chips) and FAA (Fruits as Alternative) is two linked-and-parallel programme to meet the objective of creating a healthier diet and lifestyle.

Programme 2-IIAWOT Programme
IIAWOT, or in full term Internet is a waste of time, programme is aimed to reduce internet usage with more productive actions/work.

Programme 3-SS Programme
No, it is not Hitler's Schutzstaffel forces, but it is an acronym for Soul Searching. Soul Searching Programme covers wide aspects of life (which includes weaknesses/strength, errors etc.).

I will try to make these programmes success(es).

Wish me luck!
